Austin, Texas-based Pervasive Software (NASDAQ: PVSW) develops and distributes data management and integration software to integrate, analyze, secure, manage and harvest data from disparate sources. The Pervasive PSQL embedded database is the primary data management offering and Pervasive Data Integrator is the flagship integration product. The integration products deliver business-to-business integration between corporate data, third-party applications and custom software in a broad array of markets like accounting & finance, retail, CRM, government, healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, and education. Pervasive Software started in 1982 as SoftCraft, creator of the Btrieve database technology. Acquired by Novell in 1987, Pervasive later spun out as Btrieve Technologies. The company name was changed to Pervasive Software in 1996 and went public in 1997. Its current flagship database product, Pervasive PSQL, was launched in 1999. In 2003, Pervasive acquired Data Junction Corporation, makers of privately held Data Junction, a suite of data and application integration tools now known as Pervasive Data Integrator.
